Ismay, Mr Joseph Bruce - Managing Director of the White Star Line. In 1907 Ismay made the decision to build Titanic during a dinner party at the home of William J Pirrie, Managing Director of Harland and Wolff. He would receive much critism for boarding the partially filled collapsible 'C' and leaving Titanic knowing that there were not enough lifeboats for all the passengers and crew.
